A/N: I was attacked by a vampire plotbunny Friday afternoon on I-95 and this is the result. This whole thing was inspired by the song below. I don’t think this is going to be that many chapters, but who knows? I can’t seem to get Ignis to work right now, so I’m doing what my muse is telling me. And as you can see, my muse has clearly been off watching too much True Blood, and is ain a very dark sarcastic place right now. (Must be the meds.) I don’t know what’s going with LJ rt now, so this is posted to my dreamwidth account and cc’d to LJ. Lemme know whatcha think ok?

“The Other Side” -  Chap. 1

Minho felt the girl’s full breasts pressed firmly to his chest as she shivered and squirmed beneath him. This close to her Minho could make out dark roots as he pushed her auburn colored hair from her face and grabbed a fistful of it, yanking her head back at the perfect angle. He absolutely loved full-figured women, their curves, their scent, even their sweetness permeated from their pores.

It was delicious.

Her gurgling screams went unheard in the empty coffee shop. Minho had made sure he was the only customer at closing time, and had flirted like a proper gentleman for the better part of a week so that she would be comfortable with him. He had complimented her on her curves and beautiful décolletage not once but twice. He knew that she was shy but craved attention, that she would spend the week trying to find just the right blouse to reveal that which he complimented.

He knew.

Why not let the girl spend the last week of her life feeling beautiful? Wanted? Loved?

It was the least he could do, right?

Minho found himself satiated when the girl’s body ceased its spasms. The café had floor-to-ceiling glass windows on three sides and Minho had positioned them with his back to the door so any passerby would think that he and the girl were simply making out intensely.

He glanced over at the door as he gently lowered her lifeless body onto the red tiles behind the counter. He quickly grabbed the handkerchief from his back pocket and dabbed at a spot of blood that had dripped onto his oxford.

“Damn.”

Standing, he turned and rolled up his sleeves, grabbing a sponge that was sitting in the sink between the blenders and the espresso machine. Running a bit of water over it he was just about to dab at the stain when there was a knock at the glass door directly across from him.

He froze.

On the other side of the door was a young man, about his age, or rather, the age he was when he was turned, soft hair framing a beautiful face, hair the same color as the girl laying at his feet. Minho glanced down at the girl just to see if he was imagining things. Then back up at the now pleading eyes of the man bouncing on his toes pointing to the lock on the door.

In an instant, Minho changed his facial expression to a friendly soft smile shaking his head and mouthing that the café was closed.

The young man then pressed his hands together beneath his chin in a pleading gesture, the folder under his arm slipping away. He yelped as he dropped to a crouch and tried to retrieve its contents, fighting with the breeze that was now scattering papers everywhere.

Minho cocked his head and watched the scene on the other side of the glass as if he was watching a TV show. Something about the awkward handsome man seemed familiar, but he couldn’t place it. Minho shrugged, sighed, dropped the sponge back in the sink and stepped over the body.

When he reached the door of the café the man was clutching rumpled papers to his chest, bending the folder at an awkward angle, grinning from ear to ear in the brightest smile Minho had ever seen.

The man swept by him talking a mile a minute.

“Oh my God! Thank you! Thank you! I’m working on my thesis and I just need coffee to stay awake a bit longer. The place I usually go to down the street is closed already and I was so happy when I saw that someone was still here. I swear I’ll leave right after, because I know you’re closing. Thank you so much for letting me…um…hello?”

Minho couldn’t hear a word the man was saying because every cell in his body seemed to be on fire. His hands shook, his vision tunneled and blurred, he was sweating, it was a hunger he’d never felt before. No it wasn’t hunger, it was something else. Something akin to need that he couldn’t identify and the unfamiliar feeling frightened him.

He took a step back towards the door as the young man took one towards him, waving one hand in his face, dropping another paper in the process.

“Hello. Hey, are you alright?”

The man waved his hand again, this time closer, and with lightning fast reflexes, Minho caught his arm mid-wave. As his long fingers closed around the skin of the other man’s wrist, Minho was so overwhelmed that he had to let go quickly and dropped to one knee in the pretense of picking up the lost printout that lay at their feet between them. Taking a moment to compose himself before standing again.

What the hell is going on?

“Are you alright?”

The young man repeated himself, leaning in a bit to peer up at Minho’s face. His eyes were dark chocolate brown, with long pretty lashes, almost like a woman’s. Minho could smell his aftershave, detergent, and could detect a bit of an elevated heart rate that seemed to stem from worry rather than fear.

“Um…yeah…um…just…what can I get you?” Minho said quickly and walked past the man, giving him a wide berth in order not to come in contact with his aura again.

“Ok..well…can you make me a medium frozen cappuccino with an extra shot if you haven’t shut the machine down?”

Minho stopped just behind the counter and took a deep breath. One of the benefits of imbibing the blood of a human, was instant access to their memories, feelings, emotions and in this case, barista experience.

“If it’s too much trouble then..”

“No. No. I got it. Medium right?”

“Yep. Thanks…er…what’s your name?”

“It’s Minho.”

“I’m Jinki. Thanks Minho!”

Without even turning around, Minho could feel the man grinning at him again, before he heard the scrape of a wood chair against the tile behind him and a soft thud as the man sat down to wait for his drink.

Minho had just finished making the beverage and was wiping down the cup with a clean rag when he heard a cat mewling outside the door. He whirled around in time to see Jinki opening the door to the café and crouching down.

“Hey little guy. Are you lost?”

Jinki looked down the street in both directions to see if there was anyone there, but the street was empty. The calico cat purred and looked from Jinki to Minho with pretty brown eyes, leaning into Jinki’s touch. A glint around it’s neck caught Jinki’s attention.

“Hey! He’s got a little golden key around his neck. I wonder who he belongs to.”

Minho smirked knowingly, placing Jinki’s drink on the counter.

“Your drink is ready.”

“Oh great. Thanks!” Jinki patted himself down looking for his wallet.

“How much do I owe you?”

“Oh. It’s on the house.”

“Oh no I couldn’t…”

“Really. It’s no problem, the register’s closed anyway.”

While the men were arguing over the bill, the cat sniffed the air and suddenly stood up with it’s tail straight in the air. His eyes narrowed a bit, and the hair stood up on it’s back as it growled.

Jinki looked down at it again, as Minho rolled his eyes.

“Hey little guy. Are you scared? What’s wrong?”

Minho glared at the cat, and gestured down at the unseen girl’s body with his head.

The cat cocked his head and moved out of Jinki’s grasp to walk between his legs and towards the counter. Minho simultaneously picked up the drink and walked out from behind the counter stepping over the cat to hand Jinki the beverage and usher him out the door.

“Um. Hey. I’m really sorry, but I’ve got to close up now. Have a good night ok?”

Minho pulled open the door and stood inside on the other side of it, putting the glass between him and the customer. Jinki getting the hint, quickly gathered his things and scooted out the door.

“Thanks again Minho! Nice meeting you!” Jinki called out as Minho locked the door and waved with a friendly smile.

“What.the.FUCK?!”

Minho whirled around and hurried back behind the counter to where the cat had disappeared and was replaced by a grown man wearing nothing but a small golden key on a choker and a blazer. He was sitting on the floor angrily trying to wipe blood off of his feet with one of the rags hanging from the dishwasher.

“Shit Minho, when you asked me to meet you for dinner, I didn’t think you meant this! And what the fuck is the matter with you? You told him your name? You even served him coffee when you had this shit lying over here?”

He waved the dirty rag in the direction of the corpse.

“God she’s a porker isn’t she?”

“Shut the hell up Key and just help me move her.”

“Do I look like a coroner to you?”

“Just DO it! And why the hell are you wearing my jacket?”

“Because I’m fucking naked Minho, that’s why.”

Key raised an eyebrow, opened the blazer, stomped his foot and lewdly flashed his friend.

“Or would you rather see me in the buff huh?”

Minho scowled, clearly unimpressed and killed the lights. He then grabbed the girl by her feet and started dragging her body towards the stock room.
